Bryce Hospital, A Light in the Darkness
Bryce Hospital, the Alabama state mental hospital, began as a light in the darkness of mental illness. Early in the twentieth century, though, Bryce fell into darkness. In the early 1970s, there was breakthrough in the landmark case of Wyatt vs. Stickney. This is the story of how Bryce Hospital was started, how it fell into darkness and how it came out of the darkness and shines today as a beacon of hope for mental illness everywhere.
